Math 1150 - Introduction to the Practice of Statistics

Non-Game Migratory Bird Inventory Analysis Morris Wetland Management District

This data is separated by year into various Waterfowl Production Areas (WPA's), and bird counts of the following birds are kept at different points in each WPA:
Marsh, Waterfowl, Raptors and Owls, Gull Terns, Upland Game, Shorebirds,
Woodpeckers, Perching birds, Grass birds, and Other.

In the counties where more than one WPA is used, the indicator variable WPA is used to differentiate between the various sites.

There are a different number of points at which observations were made at each WPA. The TYPE variable describes the habitat type of that point as follows :
 10 Native Prairie
 50 Woodland
 60 Farm Grove/Shelter Belt

The SIZE variable indicates the size of the respective WPA point, in acres.

NOTES

  • In 1995, Florida Creek point 3 was not done - underwater.
